Swinney updates his team injuries

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney spoke with the media on the Sunday teleconference and updated the status of injuries on his team after the physical 14-6 win over Auburn.

"Healthwise we are in good shape," Swinney said. "Marcus (Edmond) was the main one with his foot. I'll know more on him tomorrow. We will see where he is at. The x-rays were good."

Starting safety Van Smith sprained his knee against Kent State and was in street clothes as he watched from the sidelines during the Auburn game.

"He's getting better and improved a lot last week," Swinney said. "We just were not quite confident to put him out there especially when we got healthy guys. Just not quite confident that he could do what he needed to do. I saw him this morning and he was in treatment. He's getting better."

Smith was replaced by K'Von Wallace on Saturday.
