Swinney comments on Korrin Wiggins transfer

by - Assoc. Editor -

Senior defensive back Korrin Wiggins announced last week that he had been given his release by head coach Dabo Swinney and will transfer to another school. Swinney said before the Greenville Prowl and Growl event on Wednesday that it was a move Wiggins made looking for more playing time.

"He was an experienced player. A good player. We wish him well," Swinney said. "We got good depth. We really like the depth we have at safety, and that's really where he was trying to get in the mix. You know it's probably a better opportunity for him from a playing time standpoint. We appreciate all that he did for us especially his graduation. We wish him nothing but the best wherever he ends up."

Wiggins has 67 tackles, four tackles for loss, four interceptions, four quarterback pressures and seven pass breakups in 1,007 snaps over 32 games (seven starts) in his career.
