Scott updates injuries with Lawrence, Mullen |
The Clemson Football team had two significant injuries with quarterback
Trevor Lawrence and cornerback
Trayvon Mullen during their thrilling comeback win against Syracuse on Saturday.
However, good news for Tigers fans as both injuries appear not as severe as they looked during the contest. Clemson co-offensive Jeff Scott said during Monday's media interviews that everything was trending right for Lawrence and the injury is "more of a neck strain" than a concussion. "A lot of positive signs," Scott said. "Everything is tracking the right way. There is a chance he will be able to practice tonight. I think they are going to let him lift and go through the protocol that they have. They have been very optimistic. I think they are kind of finding out it was a little more of a neck strain the way he got hit than anything else. So that’s been really good news. But no final decision on that has been made." Mullen got rolled up pretty good by a defender in the third quarter on Saturday but he will be able to play Saturday against Wake Forest, confirmed by Scott and defensive coordinator Brent Venables. This is great news for Clemson as both players are very important for the overall success of the team.
