Sammy Watkins decided to cut off his dreads |
Sammy Watkins has a new home and now an all-new look.
The Kansas City Chiefs receiver recently cut off the trademark dreadlocks that he had for nearly 13 years. He did all the barber work himself, and it took little over an hour. Watkins showed up to his media interview with a different look and told reporters that he is all business this season. "Woke up one morning and decided to cut it," he said. "Kind of just wanted to be different this season and just be about business," Watkins said. "I’ve had them for maybe 12, 13 years. I’m 25 now. I don’t want to be 40 with dreads. I just decided to cut it." His coach Andy Reid has liked what he has seen so far from Watkins. "He’s all business,” he said. "I love the way he goes about it. A true pro." In 2017, Watkins has 39 receptions for 593 yards and eight touchdowns (8th in NFL). During the 26-13 playoff loss to the Falcons, he caught a pass on four targets for 23 yards. For his NFL career, he has 192 catches for 3,052 yards and 25 scores. New year, new look. @sammywatkins ? #ChiefsCamp pic.twitter.com/b63DB99cWd
