Report: Clemson tops $30 million from ACC revenue |
Clemson's recent run of Playoff appearances has it atop the ACC football revenue distribution list once again.
The conference has equal basic revenue sharing but accounts for bowl and Playoff expenses over the year, which bumped Clemson to a conference-leading $30.7 million in revenue for the 2017 fiscal year, per a USA TODAY report from Steve Berkowitz on Power 5 conference revenue. That is up considerably up from 2015 ($26.6 million) and 2016 ($27.9 million), with more Playoff expenses falling in FY17 (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017). The 2017 ACC numbers trend up from a 2016 fiscal year that saw an over seven percent drop in revenue, which was partly due to factors like Maryland’s Big 10 exit penalty coming off the books from 2015.
