Peake leaves game after massive hit by Swearinger

Former Clemson wide receiver Charone Peake led the Jets with five catches on the night that totaled 43 yards in the 28-3 loss to the Cardinals on Monday Night Football. However, he took a big hit over the middle by safety D.J. Swearinger in which he had to leave the game with a chest injury and was seen spitting out blood after the hit.

However, Peake came back in the game and had another catch on the night and was not mentioned as one of the players injured in the postgame interviews.

On the field in the postgame, he traded jerseys with former Clemson teammate Chandler Catanzaro.

"You’ve got to see it before it happens," Swearinger said to reporters after the game. "I’d seen a certain route that we were expecting to get. I was hoping he’d throw it — I was actually hoping he’d throw it a little later so I could get an interception, but he threw it when he threw it and I had to make him pay for it."

Former Clemson wide receiver Jaron Brown of the Cardinals had four catches for 35 yards while former Clemson running back Andre Ellington had five rushes for 25 yards.
