NCAA Tournament: Clemson projected as national seed |
Clemson holds the last national seed projection
in D1Baseball.com’s latest NCAA Tournament field.
Monte Lee’s Tigers are projected to host Oklahoma State as a 2-seed opposite a Stetson Regional. Last week, D1 projected a possible regional matchup with South Carolina, but they sent the Gamecocks to the Duke Regional in this installment. Clemson (39-13, 19-8 ACC) wraps regular-season action with a trip to Kennesaw State (106 RPI) Tuesday and then a Thursday-Saturday series at Pittsburgh (110 RPI). The Tigers are in contention for the top seed in next week’s ACC Baseball Championship at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. They go into the week tied with UNC for the top spot and a game ahead of NC State - two teams which would have the tiebreaker on Clemson. The conference tournament holds four pools of three teams with the winners meeting in single-elimination semifinals. Clemson is ranked as high as No. 4 in the latest polls with an RPI of 11.
