McGlockton funeral information

From WWAY NEWS:

Family and friends said goodbye today to football great Chester McGlockton. The Whiteville High alum died last week of an apparent heart attack at his home in California.

Former teammates as well as fellow coaches and players from Stanford University were among the mourners that filled a northern California church to honor the Whiteville native. McGlockton was a standout at Whiteville High, Clemson University and in the NFL.

Today he was remembered through prayer and song as a friend, loving husband and caring father.

"Dad was so kind and loving. He was good at what he did," McGlockton's eldest daughter Skylar said. "He did his best to make me and Sierra happy, and he did that. I had a wonderful time with him. He did things like help me with homework. He helped me when I was hurt. He helped me feel encouraged. He was a great dad, and I love him more than you can ever imagine."

McGlockton's body will be flown back to North Carolina. A memorial is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of Whiteville High School.
