Lindy's Sports picks Clemson over VT

by -

From Lindy's Sports:

No. 13 Clemson (4-0) at No. 11 Virginia Tech (4-0) 5:00 p.m. CT

After taking a long look at Virginia Tech last week, I saw a team that has a lot of talent but has issues with turnovers. The Hokies turned the ball over three times in their win at Marshall a week ago and must avoid those at all costs against a really good Clemson club. Quarterback Logan Thomas (761 passing yards; four TDs; four INTs) and tailback David Wilson are Virginia Tech’s main playmakers on an offense, and they will need to have a big game on the ground for the Hokies to pull out the win. Wilson is the conference’s leading rusher (516 yards; five TDs) and has an extra gear when he gets going, but he’s shown a tendency to put the ball on the turf. If that issue should arise again against the Tigers, backup tailback Josh Oglesby could be asked to shoulder more of the load. Speaking of shouldering the load, how about Clemson quarterback Tajh BoydTajh Boyd

View Full Profile ? Boyd has been the ACC’s best offensive player so far this season, and he can cement that status if Dabo Swinney’s club can upset the Hokies. Considering how well the Tigers are playing, that’s not a long shot. Clemson has been battle tested twice this season already, and I think that comes into play against a Hokies team that isn’t as good as its ranking.

The Lowe Down: Clemson 35, Virginia Tech 28
