Lift for Life event set for July 15

by -

Clemson, SC (June 15, 2016) – The Clemson Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its annual Lift For Life event on Friday, July 15th. Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of college football student-athlete led chapters. The Clemson Chapter, led by President Andy Teasdall, will continue its mission of using college football as a platform to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport. This will be the second Clemson Chapter Lift For Life as part of Uplifting Athletes.

The leadership team for the Clemson Chapter has made its Lift For Life fundraising efforts a competition by having offense, defense and specialists face-off.

The challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. The grassroots effort of the Clemson Chapter, along with a nationwide network of teams, is uniquely positioned to educate and engage the local community and shine a spotlight on rare diseases.

The Clemson Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2014 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. Founded by former kicker Chandler Catanzaro and long snapper Jim Brown, the student-athlete led Clemson Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of an assistant coach who fought kidney cancer, a former player who fights Castleman disease, and a member of the Tigers athletic staff whose child battles neuroblastoma.
