Lamb ends career at Clemson, signs with Rangers

View Full Profile is passing up his senior year at Clemson to start his pro baseball career; he signed with the Rangers this week, and was assigned to their short-season Single-A club in Spokane, WA.

He was a second-round pick in this year's MLB draft (83rd overall).

Lamb was a second-team All-ACC selection this year as an outfielder, but will be a pitcher with the Indians. He was one of 25 players on the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year watch list.

He was 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched, recording 29 strikeouts. Lamb also hit .348 at the plate this year, second-best for Clemson.
