Four Clemson players named to SI's Preseason All-America team

Dexter Lawrence is a quarterback's worst nightmare with his size and speed on Clemson's formidable defensive line. The ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year is only a sophomore and ready to wreak havoc again in 2017.

Sports Illustrated released their 2017 Preseason All-American teams on Wednesday and Lawrence was listed on their first team.

"All but one of SI’s All-America voters had Clemson represented in some way on their defensive line ballots," SI.com said. "Alongside fellow sophomore Clelin Ferrell and second-team selection Christian Wilkins, Lawrence is the most dominant member of one of the deepest position groups in the country. His seven sacks are the most coming back on a Tigers defense that finished third nationally with 49 a year ago."

Lawrence, who was also named first-team All-America by CBS Sports this week, had 78 tackles including a Clemson true freshman record seven sacks.

In addition to Lawrence, three Clemson players were named on the second-team list with offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt, offensive guard Tyrone Crowder, and defensive end Christian Wilkins.
