, who played for 5 different organizations in his 8 year career, has decided to retire from baseball he told Live 5 Sports on Tuesday. Jackson, who spent the end of last season pitching in the Pirates organization, said he decided to call it quits about 3 weeks ago before heading to spring training. After pitching for Summerville High, Jackson chose to play ball at Clemson despite being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 38th round of the 2000 MLB Draft. He was also drafted after his junior season with the Tigers by the Cleveland Indians in the 32nd round but stayed in school. In his four years in school Jackson put together a record of 19-8.
