Former Clemson WR signs tender with Bucs |
Another 'WRU' member has gotten paid.
Former Clemson receiver Adam Humphries signed a one-year qualifying offer with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday. In 2017, Humphries had 61 receptions (2nd on team) for 631 yards and one touchdown. Humphries had an impressive 55 catches for 622 yards and two touchdowns as the team's No. 2 receiver and primary slot receiver in 2016. He was also the primary punt returner returning 24 punts with a 9.9-yard average. In 2015 in 13 games, he had 27 catches for 260 yards (9.6 ypc) and a touchdown in his rookie season. During his three year NFL career, he has 143 catches for 1,513 yards and four touchdowns. The undrafted rookie and Clemson fan favorite earned a free agent contract after dazzling the Bucs' coaching staff in a two-day tryout back in May 2015. He was also impressive during the preseason as he led the team with nine catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. The former Dorman high school product had 127 receptions for 1,097 yards and three touchdowns while at Clemson.
