Former Clemson TE to sign with Dolphins

Former Clemson tight end Dwayne Allen has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal worth $7 million with the Miami Dolphins on Saturday.

Other interested teams for the veteran tight end included the Bears, Bills, Browns, Seahawks, and Ravens.

Allen was cut by the Patriots on Monday to free up over seven million in cap space.

The 29-year old had a career-low three catches (4 targets) for 27 yards with the Patriots last season. In 2017, he had ten receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown. One of his best seasons as a professional was his rookie season with the Colts where he had 45 catches for 521 yards and three touchdowns.

For his NFL career, the seven-year NFL veteran has 139 receptions for 1,564 yards and 20 touchdowns.

He had 93 receptions for 1,079 yards and 12 touchdowns in 41 games (33 starts) during his collegiate career at Clemson.
