Former Clemson quarterback Nick Schuessler was waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday to make room for quarterback Bart Houston according to multiple reports.

Schuessler was an undrafted free agent after not being drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He was the backup quarterback to Deshaun Watson each of his final two seasons. He was 44-66 passing for 564 yards and three touchdowns in 212 snaps over 19 games in his career and completed 67 percent of his passes with a 150.4 pass efficiency rating.

In 2016, Schuessler completed 23 of 33 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns (six games) and owned a passing efficiency of 184.7
