Former Clemson defensive end Dane Rogers will transfer to North Carolina A&T as the school's Fall semester starts on Wednesday.

TigerNet spoke with Rogers on Tuesday afternoon and he said that he won't be playing football but focusing his entire efforts on academics and getting his college degree.

Rogers will have fond memories of his time playing football at Clemson.

"I love 'em [Clemson fans]," Rogers said. "They are the best fans in the world." Rogers wanted all the Clemson fans to wish him good luck on the next chapter of his life.

Rogers is back in his home state as he graduated in 2013 from Crest High school in Shelby, North Carolina.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney announced back in February that the junior defensive end would transfer.

"He (Rogers) has decided he wants to finish up here this spring and transfer, probably to a 1AA school," Swinney said. "I certainly have no problem with that. That is a decision that he has made and I support him in that."

Rogers played in 7 games in 2015 and had 2 tackles.
