ESPN ranks Clemson #1 defensive line group

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson will be loaded again on the defensive line with some of the top talents in college football this upcoming season with Clelin Ferrell, Dexter Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, Austin Bryant, Albert Huggins, and other highly-regarded teammates. ESPN released their latest article on Tuesday with their top defensive line groups and Clemson was ranked No. 1 in the entire country.

"The Tigers were inexperienced in 2016 after losing three players selected in the NFL draft, but they added true freshman Dexter Lawrence, who pushed Christian Wilkins to defensive end," ESPN's Phil Steele said. "Clemson allowed 130 yards per game (3.7 per carry) with 49 sacks. With those two back, this year's squad is their most experienced over the past three years. The Tigers lose only a player who was selected in the fourth round of the draft and have 11 highly touted players returning."

The Top 15 in the defensive line group rankings were Clemson, Ohio State, North Carolina State, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Utah, Florida, Michigan, Auburn, Georgia, Boston College, Houston, LSU, and Wisconsin.

Watch out the rest of the country as the ACC conference has four of the top five defensive lines in the country according to the rankings.
