ESPN analysts predict Clemson-Louisville

The Internet is abuzz with different projections for the big-time prime time ABC matchup between No. 2 Clemson against No. 14 Louisville on Saturday night.

ESPN analyst Phil Steele has Clemson as a prediction of 34-27 No. 2 Clemson over No. 14 Louisville while his colleagues David Hale and Andre Adelson disagree on the game as Hale has a projection of 35-33 win for the Tigers and Adelson has a 21-20 win for the Cardinals.

"Jackson is a better overall quarterback than he was when these teams played last year (and Jackson had 457 yards and three touchdowns), and that will allow him to mitigate the clear advantage the Clemson defensive line has going into the game," Adelson said. "Clemson's defense is as imposing as it gets, and it will get its shots in on Jackson. But he is so motivated going into this game; he will make one more play and pull out the win."

Sports Illustrated had five of their seven writers pick Clemson over the Redbirds.

"Lamar Jackson nearly led Louisville to an upset of the Tigers in Death Valley last year, but Clemson turned the ball over five times in that game," SI.com's Andy Staples said. "If Clemson protects the ball, its superior defense should allow the Tigers to prevail."
