ESPN analyst responds to Jeff Scott's criticism on "finesse" comments

The Clemson football team showed off a powerful running game in their 63-3 win over Wake Forest on Saturday night.
ESPN analyst Desmond Howard said the Clemson offense was a "finesse group" earlier in the day on ESPN GameDay.
"I don't see them being a physical outfit offensively," Howard said. "They are more of a finesse group; they are not gonna be a smash mouth group. You can't change who you are in the middle of the season. You are who you are. You are what you are."
Clemson co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott heard about the lazy hot take by Howard.
"Somebody needs to send that to Desmond Howard so he can get his facts straight," he said. "It's hard to be a finesse group when you are rushing for 300 yards a game. You would agree with that, wouldn't you?"
Desmond Howard saw his Twitter account being blown up by Clemson fans and had the following response.
"Hey, coach Jeff Scott. I received it per your request," Howard said in a short video. "I'm home trying to keep up with these games, this keeps coming across on my Twitter mentions. I expect you to know that finesse is not a statistic, it's a style. I don't make it a practice to "clap back" at assistant coaches so I'm going to chalk this up to you having a really rough week and I'm going to leave it at that. Best of the luck the rest of the way and hope to see you down the road."
Honestly, I have no dog in this fight. However, this would have been a great time for Howard to just say he had a horrible take and leave it at that. The statistics show Clemson's running game has been excellent the last four games with Travis Etienne rushing for a school-record 654 yards during that span.
Howard released his top 4 schools on Sunday that included Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Georgia.
