ESPN GameDay picks for Clemson-NC State

by - Staff Writer -

The only meeting Saturday between two teams ranked in the top-15 is coming up in Death Valley with Clemson (6-0) and NC State (5-0).

The No. 3 Tigers enters the afternoon as a 17.5-point favorite after each of the last two meetings being decided by seven points - one in overtime two years ago.

ESPN’s College GameDay panel weighed in with their predictions live from Pullman, Washington Saturday:

ESPN GameDay predictions

Desmond Howard picked Clemson: This is going to be a tough one. I think Clemson will prevail at home. Trevor Lawrence will take that step we've been looking for him to take.

Celebrity guest picker Drew Bledsoe predicted Clemson: Clemson wins the ballgame. I'm excited to watch. I think it's going to be a really good ballgame.

Kirk Herbstreit picked Clemson: Bear (Chris Fallica) made a point earlier that (the win margin) will be much larger. That Clemson will blow them out. NC State had had Clemson's the number the last two years and came so close to beating them two years ago. I think it will be close, but Clemson's defensive pressure getting after Ryan Finley will be the difference.

Lee Corso picked Clemson: Clemson but 17 points is too much. Much closer.

David Pollack picked Clemson

Chris Fallica picked Clemson with the spread (-17.5)
