DeAndre Hopkins withdraws from 2019 Pro Bowl

by - Assoc. Editor -

Houston Texans receiver DeAndre 'Nuk' Hopkins has withdrawn from the NFL Pro Bowl because of a shoulder injury.

Hopkins was injured during the wild-card loss when he sprained his AC joint in his right shoulder. He will rest his shoulder and should be ready for another dominant year in 2019.

The All-Pro had a career-high 115 receptions for 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2018. He ranked third in the NFL in receptions and second in receiving yards.

He was also first in the NFL with 81 receptions that led to first downs for his team. However, the most impressive stat by Hopkins was that he had zero drops from his 115 catchable targets on the season which broke a record (60) by Randall Cobb in 2016.

Cleveland Browns receiver Jarvis Landry will take Nuk's place in the All-Star event.

Despite missing the game, Hopkins appears to be in good spirits according to his following tweet:
