DB target sets commitment date

by -

2020 four-star cornerback Luke Hill (Washington, D.C.) announced Saturday he will commit on Sept. 1. Hill has regarded Clemson as a favorite and stopped in for Dabo Swinney camp in June.

Hill had Clemson in a top-10 with South Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas A&M, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Florida and Alabama in June. In addition to Clemson, Hill also visited Penn State and Alabama in June.

Hill credited his relationship with cornerbacks coach Mike Reed as a strength for Clemson.

“The relationship I have with Coach Reed,” he said of reasons why Clemson stood out in June. “Whenever I talk to Coach Reed, it’s mostly football and life. He basically keeps telling me to keep working and keep working hard...

“Playing time is a main factor. but the main thing with Coach Reed is that Clemson plays with six DBs on the field at one time. Playing time becomes less important when you know there are six DBs because there is more opportunity.”
