Clemson signee selected #887 overall in MLB Draft

Clemson 2016 shortstop signee Logan Davidson from Charlotte, NC was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 30th round with the #887 pick on Saturday afternoon.

Many scouts thought they he would be chosen in the first four rounds.

Davidson batted .430 with nine home runs, 49 RBIs, and 17 doubles this spring. On the mound, he was 10-1 with two saves, a 1.5 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 67 innings.

Logan's father Mark played at Clemson and also played in the big leagues and was a member of the 1987 Minnesota Twins' team that won a World Series title. Also, Logan's sister played tennis at Stanford.
