Clemson extended its unbeaten run to 26 games on Saturday in the 52-3 win over Wake Forest and maintained its No. 3 spot in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
The Tigers were jumped by Ohio State last week after the Buckeyes had ascended to the top spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. LSU was the new Coaches No. 1 and stayed there this week with 55 first-place votes, with Ohio State (6) and Clemson (4) also drawing first votes. Georgia and Alabama round out the top-5 with Oregon, Oklahoma, Utah, Penn State and Florida completing the top-10. Around the ACC, Virginia Tech is on the doorstep of being ranked with the 26th-most votes. For the time in over a month (Oct. 6 poll), Clemson has an opponent they've played in the rankings with Texas A&M rejoining the top-25 at No. 24 after a 30-6 win over South Carolina.
