Clemson ranked No. 1 in CBSSports.com's 2017 performances

Clemson Football has been impressive through their first three games manhandling Kent State, Auburn, and Louisville to rise to the No. 2 ranking in both major national polls.

However, CBSSports.com's Tom Fornelli has Clemson rated the No. 1 team based on performance in 2017 over Alabama and wonders when the Tigers will get more national respect.

"At what point is it acceptable to start giving Clemson the same kind of respect we show Alabama?, Fornelli pondered. "As I was watching Clemson beat Louisville 47-21 on Saturday night, I couldn't help but think to myself, "This is the best team in the country." Of course, I knew that when the rankings came out on Sunday that Alabama would still be No. 1. I knew this because Alabama was already No. 1, and it's seemingly illegal to not rank Alabama No. 1 if it was already there and didn't lose.

This all led to me wondering how much more Clemson needs to do before we give it the same kind of respect. This is a Clemson team that has gone 31-2 since the start of the 2015 season. Its only two losses in that time span were a one-point loss to Pittsburgh last year and a 5-point loss to Alabama in the 2015 title game."

If you look at Alabama's 2017 schedule, they have an impressive win against Florida State by 17 points but playing Fresno State and Colorado State at home for non-conference wins is just plain boring. I literally watched zero minutes of those two football games.

Don't forget the Crimson Tide have a heavyweight showdown with Mercer on Nov.18 to really continue the snoozefest schedule.
