Clemson pitcher named ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Pitt’s Charles Leblanc has been voted the ACC Baseball Player of the Week, while Clemson’s Pat Krall and NC State’s Ryan Williamson were selected as Co-Pitchers of the Week.

ACC weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel. This is the first career weekly award for all three players.

Leblanc led the Panther offense over the weekend, going 9-for-13 with nine RBI against No. 24 Clemson. In a 15-5 win on Saturday against the Tigers, the sophomore shortstop from Laval, Quebec, was 4-of-5 with six RBI. In a mid-week win over Kent State, Leblanc was 2-of-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs to bring his four-game average for the week to .647 (11-of-17) with 12 RBI in four games.

Krall earned two wins in two close Tiger victories last week. In his two relief appearances, he pitched 8.0 innings, allowing just four hits, no runs and one walk with five strikeouts. At Furman on Tuesday, he pitched the final 3.2 innings to earn the win. Then on Sunday against Pitt, he held down a potent Panther lineup, giving up just one hit, no runs and no walks with two strikeouts in the final 4.1 innings pitched to earn the win. On the season, the junior from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, is 3-0 with an 0.56 ERA and a .174 opponents' batting average while allowing only five walks with 32 strikeouts.

Williamson led the Wolfpack to its first series win over Virginia in Charlottesville since 2007 by tying a career high with 10 strikeouts and working a season-long six innings in the Sunday finale. Williamson’s 10 strikeouts are the most by any pitcher against Virginia since 2014, the last pitcher with more being the Wolfpack’s Carlos Rodon in 2012. The junior from Cranford, New Jersey, improved to a perfect 5-0 with the win, dropping his ERA to 2.45 through 33 innings pitched this season.
