Clemson named among NCAA regional hosts |
Clemson was announced as one of the 16 NCAA Baseball Tournament Regional hosts Sunday evening, as expected.
The Tigers (45-14) are one of four hosts from the ACC, along with new conference champion Florida State, North Carolina, which tied with Clemson for the top regular-season ACC record (22-8), and NC State. The rest of hosts are Stanford, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Georgia, Stetson, Texas Tech, East Carolina, Texas, Coastal Carolina, Florida and Minnesota. Clemson is in contention for a national seed and was projected by D1Baseball Sunday to earn the last of those top-8 spots, which earns hosting all the way through the Super Regional before Omaha's College World Series. The full field and national seeds will be announced at noon on Monday (ESPNU). Clemson has hosted the first round of the NCAA Tournament for each of the last three seasons now under third-year coach Monte Lee.
