One weekend's action was enough to move Clemson football into position for a College Football Playoff spot.
The new Coaches Poll was released Tuesday after week one extended into Labor Day, and Clemson moved up to No. 3 overall. The reigning national champs started No. 5 preseason in both the Associated Press and Coaches top-25s. Clemson has finished equal to or higher than its preseason rank over the last six seasons.
