Clemson makes top-15 in final 2017-18 ranking |
A Sweet 16 run in the NCAA Tournament ensured Clemson basketball’s best final top 25 ranking since the 1996-97 season.
Brad Brownell’s Tigers (25-10) were ranked No. 15 by the Coaches Poll on Tuesday, which is the first final top-25 rank since 2008-09 (AP: 24) and the best final ranking since a No. 8 finish after the program’s last Sweet 16 run in 1997. This sports season marked the first since 1989-90 that Clemson football and basketball both finished in the top-20 of the polls. The No. 7 strength of schedule was the program’s best final ranking since 2003-04 (6). A No. 11 final RPI ranking matched Clemson’s best finish since the 1996-97 season. The Tigers were ranked in each of the final 11 weekly top 25s of the season. Clemson is the only school to finish in top 15 of USA Today coaches poll in football and men's basketball in 2017-18.
