Clemson offensive lineman Gage Cervenka was honored by the city of Greenwood on Tuesday.

Cervenka was presented with a key to the city, as well as proclamations from the city and county and the state senate.

“I’d like to thank everybody who’s helped me through and made sacrifices the whole time, because I know there’s been long days of going from school to practice,” Cervenka said at the ceremony, per the Index-Journal. “I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for all of you.”

Cervenka came to Clemson from Emerald High School as a defensive tackle but moved to the offensive line in 2016. Last season he played a key role on the title-winning O-line with eight starts and 549 snaps over 15 games. The Clemson graduate is a projected starter at offensive guard this season.

He was a four-time state champion wrestler with only one loss in 200 matches and none in his last three seasons at Emerald.
