Clemson drops four spots in AP Top 25

Clemson dropped four spots in the Associated Press Top 25 on Monday.

The Tigers (20-6, 9-5 ACC) had ascended to the highest ranking yet in the Brad Brownell era (No. 11), but after an overtime loss at Florida State and a home loss to new No. 5 Duke last week, they fell to No. 15.

Florida State entered the new poll at No. 25, while Virginia stayed atop the rankings for a second-straight week. Clemson owns wins over the currently-ranked No. 10 UNC (home) and No. 16 Ohio State (road) and hosts Florida State to round out its home ACC slate (2/28).

The Tigers dropped five spots from No. 12 to No. 17 in Monday's Coaches Poll, where Duke checks at No. 5, Ohio State at No. 15 and UNC, No. 10.

Despite going 0-2, Clemson maintained its NCAA Tournament projections going into the week, as a 3-seed.

Clemson has been ranked in eight consecutive polls this season.

The Tigers return to action Wednesday at Virginia Tech (19-8, 8-6 ACC record; 7 p.m. tip/RSN TV).
