TROY, Ala. – Troy will travel to Clemson on Sept. 10, 2016, both universities announced Wednesday afternoon. It will be the second meeting between the two schools as Troy opened the 2011 season in Memorial Stadium.

Troy led Clemson 16-13 at halftime of the first meeting and was within seven points, 26-19, with just over 11 minutes to play before the Tigers pulled away for a 43-19 victory. The Trojans are 1-10 all time against the current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference and have a home-and-home series with Duke beginning this season.

The game with Clemson is Troy's first non-conference game scheduled for the 2016 season. Troy begins a home-and-home series with Boise State the following season.

Troy opens the 2013 season on Aug. 31 against UAB in Veterans Memorial Stadium. The game will be broadcast live by ESPN3 and will kick off at 6 p.m.
