Clemson QB tears tendon in finger

CLEMSON - Head Coach Dabo Swinney told Pete Yannity during a halftime interview that quarterback Kelly Bryant tore a tendon in his pinkie finger during the first series.

Bryant threw a swing pass out to Ray-Ray McCloud and immediately came to the sideline to be examined by the trainers. He returned to the game and didn't seem to be having any adverse effects.

Swinney spoke to reporters after the game and said that he will need a splint for around six weeks.

"He tore a tendon right on the end so they had to splint it up," Swinney said. "He wanted to keep playing so we taped it, splinted it and played on through it. "

Swinney thinks that he will not miss much with the finger injury.

"He's not going to miss anything," Swinney said. "Spring is over, but we got a couple weeks of weight lifting and then they have discretionary time. They finish school and finals. Then they got a couple weeks off before Summer 1 starts. He will be ready to go when we get back, but they will just splint it up so he can't bend it so it will stay straight and it should be fine."

Swinney also shared that offensive lineman Sean Pollard sprained his ankle.
