Highlights from the week for Clemson’s NFL products:
Coty Sensabaugh has had to bide his time as a reserve with the Pittsburgh Steelers this season.
Called on to make his 30th career start against Tennessee last week, the sixth-year pro made the most of it.
Sensabaugh jumped a route for his career interception – a first since October 2015 – and returned it 32 yards in a 40-17 win.
The former Titans fourth-round pick has posted six of his nine tackles in the last two games, as well as both passes defended. He credits the coaching staff for being ready for the moment.
“We have great coaches that prepare us very well,” Sensabaugh told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “They get us right. We depend on each other. We fight hard and we just go out there and have fun together no matter who is out there. We have a lot of capable guys in that room.
“This is by far the deepest secondary that I’ve been a part of. We have a lot of guys who started elsewhere who aren’t starting here just because of the numbers.”
The Kingsport, Tennessee native played four seasons with the Titans, split time between the L.A. Rams and New York Giants last season and signed with Pittsburgh in March.
He’s seen action in 82 games with 160 solo tackles, 25 passes defended and one pick-six.
