Clemson DT projected in Top 10 of 2018 Mock Draft

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson junior defensive tackle Christian Wilkins was projected to go to the Washington Redskins with the 7th overall pick in the SI.com's 2018 NFL Mock Draft released on Wednesday.

"Clemson played Wilkins at defensive end last season. At 315 pounds," SI.com said. "So, that should offer some indication of what Wilkins is capable of as an athlete. Now that Carlos Watkins is on the Texans, Wilkins should spent much of 2017 back inside at tackle, but he offers the Tigers the option of moving him around. While Washington improved its front by picking Jonathan Allen this year, it’s still shy a force up the gut."

Wilkins had 56 tackles, 13 tackles for loss including 3.5 sacks in 2016. Wilkins was first-team All-American according to the Football Writers of America and the American Football Coaches Association, a second-team selection by USA Today, Sporting News and Walter Camp, and a third team choice by Associated Press.
