Clemson's
Trevor Lawrence and Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa head into the 2019 season as the clear Heisman favorites.
At least one college football analyst doesn't see it being close. CBS Sports' Barrett Sallee was part of a panel discussion this week predicting the Heisman race. "A lot of it has to do with the fact you're getting a full offseason with Trevor Lawrence as the unquestioned starter," Sallee said. "You have a full offseason with all of those weapons. I tell you, Trevor Lawrence is set up for a huge, huge season. "As long as people (voters) don't get Trevor fatigue, I think it's going to be a runaway. I think Trevor is going to absolutely annihilate the field." Lawrence was named the Archie Griffin Award winner for college football's MVP after tossing three touchdown passes and for over 300 yards in each Playoff win. Elsewhere on the panel, CBS Sports analyst Chip Patterson went with Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts and fellow analyst Tom Fornelli went with Tagovailoa. Travis Etienne is also listed among the top-10 Heisman contenders currently.
