Boulware will referee recycling obstacle course before Clemson-FSU

Clemson, SC November 9, 2017 – Rubbermaid Commercial Products® will be joined by Clemson alum and former All-American linebacker Ben Boulware at the Tiger Tailgate on Saturday, Nov. 11 to educate fans on the importance of recycling and sustainability. Ben will referee RCP’s sustainability obstacle course, where fans will compete for the fastest time to correctly sort recycled trash into Slim Jim® refuse containers and throw footballs into a BRUTE® trash can for the chance to win a tailgate prize pack.

Additionally, the RCP Recycling Solutions Vehicle will also be located in front of Littlejohn Coliseum at Clemson where representatives will be available to answer questions and help educate the community on recycling solutions for waste reduction, while showcasing their latest refuse products. This effort builds on the relationship that Clemson University and RCP developed during RecycleMania, a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities.

RCP is committed to promoting waste reduction and providing superior recycling solutions in commercial environments. These activities are part of RCP’s commitment to sustainability and lead up to Keep America Beautiful’s America Recycles Day, the nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling, which takes place on or around November 15.

Clemson University takes great pride in its campus and demonstrates a purposeful effort to reduce, reuse or recycle wherever possible. On football game days in 2017, Clemson has recycled 220,000 lbs. of bottles, cans, paper, cardboard, and food waste, at a recycling rate of 62%. Campus-wide, Clemson University recycled 2740 tons last fiscal year, at a recycling rate of 53%.
