B.J. Goodson impressive in NFL debut vs. Dolphins

Former Clemson linebacker and current New York Giants' rookie B.J. Goodson got his first taste of live NFL action on Friday night and the reviews are very positive.

Goodson finished the contest against the Miami Dolphins with six solo tackles, including two for loss.

“B.J. was flying around,” head coach Ben McAdoo said to reporters after the game. “I thought he had a good night. I think he ended up cramping up at the end there. But he was flying around, making plays and looking like he was having fun. It was good to get him a bunch of reps.”

Goodson understands he is behind some established players at linebacker and just wants to help the team in any way possible.

"I’m going to just try and do my best and wherever they see a fit is where I’ll play, and I’ll do my best," Goodson said.

Goodson had a breakout senior season with 105 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions and two pass deflections and was subsequently drafted #109 overall by the New York Giants in the fourth round (11th pick of round) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
