Austin Bryant injury update

Austin Bryant injury update

Clemson sophomore defensive end Austin Bryant will be sidelined several weeks with an injured foot he suffered during practice recently.

Swinney updated Bryant's condition during Tuesday's media press conference and said that Bryant is improving.

"Getting better," Swinney said. "I think he was in the underwater treadmill yesterday so he is making good progress. He is off his crutches and all that. He is walking so it is just a matter of him going through the process. He's getting better."

Bryant had 35 tackles, two tackles for loss, four quarterback pressures, a fumble recovery, and 1.5 sacks in 13 games last season.

In last season's Capital One Orange Bowl, Bryant came off the bench for the injured Shaq Lawson and had eight tackles including half a sack on 63 snaps.

Clemson currently has 161 total snaps at defensive end with Richard Yeargin's 147 and Chris Register's 14.

Clemson starters for Auburn will be Richard Yeargin or Christian Wilkins at strongside defensive end and Clelin Ferrell at weakside defensive end.
