Weekend News and Notes

by - Correspondent -

This weekend the Tigers will host 75 unofficial visitors and one official visitor. Josh Briscoe will be making an official visit with the Tigers this weekend. Briscoe is one of the top wideouts in the Carolinas this season. Briscoe is a player who is known for his strong faith as well as his play making ability on the field.

Of the 75 unofficial visitors, the Tigers have offered approximately 50 of them. With the Tigers already having 11 commitments, the staff is not inviting players that they will not be able to offer in the end. The invites are getting very picky each week.

The unofficial visits this week are highlighted by CJ Byrd, James Davis, Ray Ray McElrathbey, Roderick Battle, Carlos Thomas, and Tyler Grisham. Three players from First Coast High School, Paul Muse, Ryan Stamper, and Andrew Wynn, are trying to make the trip, but their situations remain unknown with Hurricane Ivan approaching. Also, one of the nation's best linebackers Derek Nicholson could possibly be making the trip down to Death Valley.

This is big news for the Tigers. Normally the weekend USC plays Georgia, the Tigers receive a small number of unofficial visitors. The staff continues to gain momentum in the state as well as outside of the state. With an announced sellout for Saturday night, the staff has to be elated with the potential outcomes from this weekend.
