Shrine Bowl: Sunday Notebook

by -

- We did speak with Josh Adams, and we will have the update posted Monday afternoon. A couple things on Adams, he was much smaller in street clothes than I imagined. We will watch him closely this week. A second tidbit is I do not feel Clemson is a major player here with Adams. Adams did not mention Clemson in our interview, but Hobby is still recruiting him.

- As always, the players did a great job with the kids. One player who really stood out was Nick Prochak. Prochak brought a duffle bag full of miniature Spartanburg footballs. He was autographing them and giving them to every kid. It was definitely one of the more impressive displays, I have seen at the hospital. We were unable to interview Prochak, because he wanted to spend as much time as possible with the kids. We will definitely talk with him later in the week, but he made a huge first impression.

- Carl Johnson is graduating in December and will enroll at Florida in January. Any small fraction of hope Clemson had to turn him is gone.

- This week we will be compiling our top 20 players' list for South Carolina and North Carolina. The list will be posted on Monday and Tuesday. At this point, we are leaning towards a new name at the top in South Carolina, but a lot can happen this week.
