CJ Spiller Update

The first business at hand is CJ Spiller is on campus now. We will not attempt to call Spiller until tonight. Clemson has a chance, but Spiller still favors Florida State coming into the visit.

The Weekend

Clemson's big weekend went as planned or maybe better than expected. We thought Jamal Medlin would come away from the weekend committed to Clemson. Medlin gave his verbal commitment during his exit interview Sunday morning.

Kevin Alexander has now pushed Clemson right to the front with Louisville. Coach Bowden will be in Alexander's home this evening. We feel there is strong chance that Alexander will give his verbal pledge to Clemson tonight and cancel his official visit to Tennessee.

The Tallahassee duo of Ochuko Jenije and Marcus Sims had very good visits. Of the two, Clemson chances would probably be better with Jenije. Coach Bowden's faith made a stronge impression on Jenije, but he will likely see the same thing with Bobby Bowden on the 27th. We have not been able to reach Sims, and to be honest, we are not sure when we will reach him. The Sims' family handles the recruiting process their way, which is not a bad thing. Sims' father limits the interviews for Marcus to keep the pressure down. Sources close to Sims indicate he had a very good visit, but FSU is still the team to beat.

With 17 verbal commitments in hand, the Tigers firmed up all of their verbal commitments. All 18 verbal commitments will not take any other official visits. The coaching staff really deserves a lot of credit for a well planned weekend that was executed flawlessly.

Julius Wilkerson Update

Wilkerson did not visit Clemson this past weekend. He will be meeting with Coach Blackwell in Gaffney this week. There is a chance Wilkerson could come in this weekend for an official visit. We will have more news on Wilkerson following his meeting with Coach Blackwell.
