Jacksonville, FL

(First Coast HS)

Because he was playing baseball up until Memorial Day, Paul Muse is not as far along as he would like to be as far as getting back into football shape. But Muse, a Clemson signee who was also offered by Auburn, Central Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, and Ole Miss, is doing his best to catch up.

“I am following the workout book that Clemson gave me, and am starting to get back in the swing of things after playing baseball,” Muse said. “Right now, my bench is 315, my squat is 440, and my 40 time is about 4.8.”

Having qualified academically, Muse is looking forward to arriving to campus and getting his career as a Tiger started.

“I will be on campus on July 3 because I want to get there and do the voluntary workouts,” Muse said.
“I have been told that I could have the chance to start as a true freshman, so I want to get there and learn as much as possible.”

“I am really excited about the upcoming season. We have some great players coming back, and some recruits coming in who can make a difference right away.”

Muse has kept in touch with position coach Jack Hines as often as possible.

“If Clemson wants me to red-shirt, it is something I will consider,” Muse said. “But we only have one true tight end coming back, so I think there will be a battle for that position all the way up until September 3. Coach Hines has told me that he definitely wants me to work on learning the offense.”
