New Recruiting Calendar

The recruiting calendar has changed this year. In recent years coaches could not be on the road from around December 20th until around January 7th. The break was for the holidays, bowl preparation and the coaches’ convention.

However this year coaches can go back on the road the first week in January then off of the road for the second week due to the coaches’ convention.

This is significant for every school but has a big effect on schools like Clemson and others who have big recruiting weekends set for January 14th. If a player is to visit a school on January 14th he can receive unlimited phone calls from the coaches of that school. Other schools can only call once that week. The extra contact is another big advantage of having players in for the weekend following a dead period.
