Question-What is the latest on qualifiers for the Tigers? Jones

Answer-The Tigers are still waiting word on Xavier Littleberry and Rashaad Jackson. They have filed for a waiver with the clearinghouse with Jackson and feel confident but may not know anything on him until mid-August. The clearinghouse will also get back word on Littleberry but the staff is confident he will also get in. Personally, my experience tells me when it comes to the clearinghouse issues I will believe it when I see it.

Question-You said last week that there were surprise comments from coaches about players in your rankings of the top players in South Carolina. I know your rankings will not come out for a few weeks but care to give any details? Scott

Answer-A few really stuck out. One SEC coach says he would rank Thomas Austin as the second best player in the state. All have said they would have C.J. Byrd at the top of the list. One SEC coach said he would have Eric Huggins from 15-20 in the state. One ACC coach said he thought Michael Washington was a better looking prospect than Damien Wright but Wright was the better football player. He also said Wright was a better football player than his former teammate Maurice Nelson. Antavious Coates is the consensus top safety in the state according to all of the coaches we spoke with. Some liked Humphries better than Grant and some liked Grant more than Humphries. All have Mike Davis as the state's top back. One SEC coach and one ACC coach say Hivera Green should be between 10-15. All agree Josh Miller is the state's top linebacker but some said he has 4.5 speed and other say a 4.6. Some think Renderick Taylor will be WR and others say safety or OLB but all have him in the top 5-8 in the state. We are still interviewing some coaches but we will have the rankings ready soon.

Question-If Tommy wins big this season and beats FSU again will he be a candidate when Daddy leaves FSU? Will

Answer-I doubt it. Maybe if FSu is turned down by Richt, Amato, etc. and Tommy wins the national title. I am not sure Tommy would want to follow his father at FSU. I think following Bobby Bowden is a tough job.
