Question-Will you have rankings this year? Chris

Answer-I am currently working on some now. In recent days I have talked to eight to ten assistant coaches at ACC, SEC and Southern Conference schools. I have also chatted with several high school coaches that have played against some of the top players in the state and coached them in camps this summer. I am considering the film we have seen, the offers each kid has and the input and rankings of the college and high school coaches to come up with a top 25 in South Carolina. We will release it in the next few weeks. There should be some surprises in it. I have talked to two ACC and two SEC assistant coaches in the past three days and some of their evaluations shocked me. You will like what they had to say when we release the list in a couple of weeks.

Question-Who will be Clemson's next commitment? Lee

Answer-The frantic pace of commitments should slow down soon. The staff will be very selective from here until January. They will only take a player very high on their board. Of the players that are highly thought of that MIGHT make a decision before their season starts, we will keep an eye on Josh Miller, Antavious Coates, Damien Wright and Roderick Battles. Those are four players who have told us they may make a move in the next few weeks.

Question-Can Whitehurst win the Heisman? Brian

Answer-He can. I think he is a long shot but he can. The Heisman has a lot of flaws but I do like the fact that it is won on the field now. You can't just promote your way to the trophy. Whitehurst is not one of the top 10 candidates but he could play his way into contention. Obviously, I think he has a better chance next season when A&M, Miami, FSU and others come to Clemson. He would need big games in Tallahassee, College Station, on national TV in Charlottesville and in Miami. I still think he is not a top 10 candidate heading into the season but may be by October.
