What are your initial thoughts about Babalola coming out for football?

The first word that came to my mind was intrigued. I admit I have always been one of the ones that pondered what he would be like on the gridiron. I see nothing bad that can come of this move. He can only help the team. He said if he does not make the two deep that he will not stay with the team. He has the body to be successful, but he needs the mentality. This is a move that he has to be 100% committed to make a success. A lot of this move will be determined by Babalola himself. Not only is he going from a contact sport to a collision sport, he is going from being a leader to being the low guy on the totem pole.

What your thoughts on the baseball team?

The pitching staff is carry the load, but some of the young bats are starting to come around. Very encouraged by Brad Chalk's performance last week. Chalk's speed on the base path is something this team does not have a lot of. If the pitching stays at this pace, I think this could be a very good team by season's end. Look at the turnaround Georgia's program made last year, they went from losing by 15 to Clemson to going all the way to the College World Series. The CWS may be high expectations for this young team, but this is Clemson baseball and it is almost expected each year. I am very excited to see how the team performs this week.

Will Sharrod Ford be drafted?

He certainly helped his case by the way he played in the second half of ACC play. One game film that I think will help his case will be a game where he did not score a lot. In the ACC tournament against Maryland, he showed more versatility than he had all year. Maryland really collapsed down on him, but he was smart and did not force the action. He put the ball in the hands of his teammates giving them opportunities to score. A lot will depend on how many underclassmen will come out and the depth of the foreign players. He could get invite to one of the camps and that will be a big factor. At this time, I do feel he will get drafted in the second round.
