Blackwell Back in South Florida

by - Radio Host -

As a young assistant David Blackwell cut his teeth in recruiting down in Dade and Broward County, Florida. The energetic linebacker coach was a major reason why Pittsburgh was able to go into the area and sign future NFL-type talent. Here are a couple of reasons Blackwell could have a big impact in South Florida:

1.He has built lasting relationships with many of the high school coaches in the area.

2.He is a good evaluator of talent which is a key when you see so many prospects in the heavily populated area.

3.Clemson will be an even bigger factor in the future there because of Miami’s entrance into the ACC and the Tigers’ win in 2004 over Miami in the Orange Bowl.

Blackwell already has a commitment from one of the fastest players in Miami (Demerick Chancellor) and is recruiting other top-ranked prospects like Avery Vogt of Coral Reef HS. We think he relentless worker as a recruiter will pay big dividends for the Tigers in a very talent rich area.
