Friday Email Bag
Each Friday I publish your comments and answer your questions. To submit a comment or questions please email me at [email protected] Mickey, I actually think we can beat FSU but it would require a different game plan that focused on running the ball. However, I am not sure Morris is willing to do that. In addition, we can only hope the O-line could make that happen. I hope all is well and that Ryan and you are having a great summer! Kirk Kirk, I think Clemson will feature the running game more this season and I agree running the football will be a key against FSU. However, it is easier said than done. FSU is very good again on defense and Clemson has question marks matching up with the Noles athletically. Clemson will have to play extremely physical in order to win at the line of scrimmage in Tallahassee. Another benefit of running the ball will be keeping the powerful FSU offense on the sidelines. Hope your doing good Mickey an hope Ryan is too.
I have a few questions I wanna get your take on. One being if you had to pick a year you think Clemson would win a title what year an why? I'm saying 2 2016 reason being. Look at what talent the D an O will have coming out of next season "2015" granted they keep Coach V and Coach Morris.
And what would you think about moving J Leggett over to one of those receiver spots an let Sam an Stanton have those TE spots an possibly not redshirt Milan. That's a crowded TE rotation there. I think Leggett could be another big body type Calvin Johnson go to guy.
I think Clemson has gotten to the point where it can expect to play for a title every year. The staff has recruited very well and the pieces are in place to be very consistent in most years. Unfortunately a lot of luck has to be on your side too. Injuries are always a factor. But I think Clemson can expect to in the hunt in many years.
I think Leggett will have a big year. He will be a difficult matchup for defenses. They will play him off of the line and split him out often. But I am not sure he has the speed to match up against corners.
I know a lot can change but at this point who do you think we close out the recruiting class with? Thanks.
Clemson will hear something from Ray Ray McCloud Monday but many close to him feel Florida will close out that deal this weekend when he visits there this weekend. Zach Bailey will make a decision sometime in August. I have always thought South Carolina has had a slight lead over Clemson in this one but he appears to be legitimately torn between the two schools. Albert Huggins is perhaps the top player in South Carolina and I have always felt that Clemson was the slight leader here over Georgia and South Carolina. Tim Settle is a hard one to read. He has been very quite but I know Clemson made an impression. My hunch is that Clemson will still be recruiting a player or two in December and January but this class could be done in the next three weeks.
